Canada Day 2018 events across the country

Canada Day celebrates the birthday of the great white north. It’s a nationwide occasion to celebrate with family and friends, whether at home barbecuing or out in the city watching fireworks. If you’re planing to throw on your red and white attire and join in on the festivities, here are some places to check out for Canada Day 2018 events.

Vancouver

If you’re celebrating in Vancouver, check out Canada Place for family-friendly activities, live music and fireworks (heads up: the Canada Day Parade won’t be taking place this year).

Victoria

In Victoria, Canada Day will be a celebration of multiculturalism, with family-friendly activities, live performances and, of course, fireworks!

Edmonton

Edmonton will be holding Canada Day Road Race 2018 on the Alberta Legislature Grounds to support the Canadian Cancer Society. You can view fireworks at the Alberta Legislature Grounds, Government House Park, Mill Woods Sport Park and Victoria Golf Course.

Calgary

Calgary offers a host of Canada Day celebrations. There’s a Canada Day Block Party at Max Bell Centre, music and food trucks at Fort Calgary, entertainment and live performances at Studio Bell, and a lot more.

Regina

Regina’s celebrations include a pancake breakfast, cultural music performances, live music and fireworks.

The Forks in downtown Winnipeg will be hosting Canada Day festivities with plenty of live entertainment, including performances by Mise en Scene.

Niagara Falls

Want to celebrate Canada Day at one of our country’s most famous spots? Niagara Falls will be hosting their Canada Day Parade along with live entertainment and fireworks.

For Canada Day celebrations that include fireworks, check out Mel Lastman Square, Toronto Ribfest at Centennial Park, Downsview Park, Amesbury Park Canada Day celebrations, Ashbridges Bay and Canada’s Wonderland.

Not surprisingly, there are so many festivities taking place in Canada’s capital, including the annual celebration at Parliament Hill. The heat wave may change things, so be sure to double check event details first.

Quebec City is offering Canada Day activities at The Plains of Abraham and Dufferin Terrace. The celebration includes an official flag-raising ceremony, yoga, family-friendly activities, a performance by Maxim Landry and fireworks.

Fredericton

Halifax

You can find multiple Canada Day celebrations across Halifax and Dartmouth. Check out Alderney Landing waterfront for a line-up of performers – including Skratch Bastid – and Halifax Harbour for fireworks.

St. John’s

In St. John’s, Canada Day celebrations begin at Signal Hill National Historic Site, followed by an afternoon of family-friendly activities at King George V Park (in case of tricky weather, the location will change to Techniplex). You can catch the fireworks after an evening concert by Greeley’s Reel.
