Tarion names winners of 2017 Homeowners’ Choice Awards

Tarion Warranty Corp. has named the winners of the 2017 Homeowners’ Choice Awards – the only awards that give Ontario’s new-home owners the power to have their builder recognized for outstanding performance.

More than 52,500 new-home buyers rated their builders, asking them about their performance before, during and after they moved into their new home. More than 8,500 homeowners weighed in with their opinions and chose recipients for outstanding customer service in four categories: Small, Medium, Large Volume and HighRise.

This year, Tarion went one step further in recognizing builder excellence, by introducing a new award – the Ernest Assaly Award – conferred to the builder who demonstrates a commitment to building quality and innovation, customer service and community involvement. The award is in honour of Ernest Assaly, Tarion’s first Chair.

While the Homeowners’ Choice Awards are determined by new-home owners, the Ernest Assaly Award winner is determined by Tarion’s board of directors.

The winners of this year’s Homeowner’s Choice Awards are:

Small Volume Category (5-20 possessions per year): Davenport Homes, Peterborough

Medium Volume Category (21-100 possessions per year): Talos Custom Homes Ltd., Richmond

Large Volume Category (More than 100 possessions per year): Arista Homes Ltd., Vaughan

Highrise Category (More than 100 high-rise possessions per year): The Daniels Corporation, Toronto

Ernest Assaly Award: Lockwood Brothers Construction, Oxford Station.
